Joydeep Buthello – Managing Director

With over 20 years of experience in the merchant navy and maritime administration, Joydeep Buthello brings a wealth of leadership, operational insight, and industry expertise to his role as Managing Director. Having built his career on a strong foundation in ship management and crew operations, he has played a vital role in shaping the company’s growth and upholding its commitment to safety, compliance, and service excellence.

Joydeep’s focus lies in strategic leadership, team development, and delivering high standards in crew management solutions. His in-depth understanding of both seafaring challenges and shore-based operations enables him to lead with clarity, confidence, and a forward-looking vision.

Under his guidance, the company continues to expand its global reach while maintaining the personal touch and reliability that clients and seafarers value most.

Mrs. Celina Lovina – Marketing Director

Mrs. Celina Lovina brings over 18 years of rich experience in the maritime industry, with a specialized background in marketing and client relations. A graduate in Business Management from Mumbai University, she combines strong academic foundations with deep industry insight to lead the company’s strategic growth and global outreach.

Starting her career as a Marketing Executive in the merchant navy sector, Mrs. Lovina has developed a keen understanding of both the commercial and operational aspects of crew management. Her dedication to building lasting relationships with clients, combined with her sharp business acumen, has played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s market presence.

As Managing Director, she oversees business development, client engagement, and brand strategy, ensuring the company remains agile, trusted, and responsive in a dynamic maritime environment.

Capt. Liyakat Ahmed – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Capt. Liyakat Ahmed serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the company, bringing over 18 years of focused experience in the maritime industry. He holds a Master’s Degree in Nautical Science from Mumbai University, India, and has built a distinguished career in ship management and executive leadership.

Beginning his journey with Unique Ship Management Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Ahmed has been instrumental in driving operational excellence, fostering organizational growth, and ensuring that the company consistently delivers quality crew solutions to its global partners. His strong academic background and practical leadership experience enable him to align maritime standards with strategic business objectives.

Capt. Liyakat Ahmed is now the person looking after overall administration, crew manning, dealing with associates, personnel’s, selection of seafarers for the right job requirement, their follow ups, their interviews, their medical, their documentation, their selection, their training, their insurance, execution of contracts, their departures, their sign-in and their sign-off and their reporting to Government authorities, all this with the help of his office staff and he is also very good in communication and understanding people.

Mr. Gaurav Pandey – Designated Person Ashore (DPA)

Bringing over 15 years of deep-rooted expertise in the maritime industry, Mr. Gaurav Pandey stands out as a strategic leader in fleet operations and business consultancy. With a robust academic foundation—a B.Sc. degree complemented by a specialization in dry cargo chartering from the prestigious Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS), London—he has crafted a remarkable career blending hands-on sea experience with shore-based strategic oversight.

Currently positioned in Greece as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA), Mr. Pandey serves as the critical nexus between shore management and vessels navigating global waters. He champions the seamless implementation, rigorous monitoring, and continuous enhancement of Safety Management Systems (SMS), ensuring every voyage meets the highest standards of safety and compliance. Beyond safety, he leverages his extensive industry insights to deliver expert consultancy aimed at optimizing fleet performance and driving operational excellence.

Mr. Pandey’s profound understanding of maritime regulations, safety protocols, and fleet efficiency not only reinforces the company’s commitment to international quality standards but also propels its reputation as a leader in global maritime operations. His dynamic approach and unwavering dedication make him an invaluable asset in steering both the safety and success of maritime ventures worldwide.

Mr. Sujay Vasant – HR Head & Crew Manager

Mr. Sujay Vasant serves as the HR Head and Crew Manager, bringing over 12 years of experience in human resource management within the maritime industry. A graduate of Mumbai University, he has developed deep expertise in crew recruitment, welfare, compliance, and career development for seafarers.

With a strong focus on people management and operational efficiency, Mr. Vasant plays a key role in ensuring that all crew deployments are handled smoothly, professionally, and in accordance with international maritime regulations. His hands-on approach and deep understanding of seafarer needs have made him a trusted point of contact for both crew members and shipowners alike.
